LIQUID FLOW SCREED PREPARATION GUIDE

To ensure that our flow screed application meets our high standards with no delay in installation, it is imperative that the surface area is prepared to the guide below:
Step 1
Dust and debris MUST be completely removed from the floor surface.
Step 2
Remove every high and low point is removed from the sub-base, ensuring the boards are laid flat.
Step 3
Lay the polythene membrane, making sure that it is free from tears, creases and punctures. Overlap joins and seal with duck tape, making sure no gaps are left where leakages may occur. The membrane must continue up the wall to the full depth of the screed. Pay careful attention to the corners to ensure a tight fit - additional tape may be used if required.
Step 4a
(For screeding without underfloor heating systems) Place a 5/10mm expansion foam around the perimeter of the room, using duck tape to secure to the polythene membrane. The surface will now be ready for application of the liquid flow screed.
Step 4b
(For screeding with underfloor heating systems but no tray system) All pipes must be clipped securely, piercing the installation with the self-sealing clips. Ensure the water system is fully filled prior to application of pumped screed to reduce the risk of the pipes floating as the screed is poured.
Step 4c
(For screeding with underfloor heating systems and tray systems) Review step 4b if a clipped pipe system is being used. If a polystyrene-backed cardboard expansion strip is used, place as indicated on the products instructions. We recommend a polythene separating membrane is still used with this method to provide a proper tanking of the floor area.
